The Publication of two lab-journals namely ‘Univ-voice’ in English and ‘Kalari’ in Malayalam by the MCJ students on the average of one issue per month is meant to impart practical training. The students acquire skills in the various aspects of print-media operations- reporting, editing, photo cropping, headline fitting, page layout through working for these journals. Students are required to participate as individual reporters as well as members of editorial teams. Evaluation is done in terms individual’s participation and contributions.
- UNIV-VOICE: It is an English practice journal produced by the students of the department as part of their academic curriculum.

- KALARI: A Malayalam practice journal produced by the students of the department. All the work behind this journal is put in by the students themselves under the guidance of a senior teacher from the department.
As a part of publicizing the research work done in the Department, a peer reviewed media research journal, ‘Communication and Media Studies’ (ISSN 2395-1559) is produced bi annually.
